It is amazing how my love of animals has grown from the little girl who brought home every stray animal to the owner of an online pet boutique! The inspiration for Furry Little Monsters has come from my Australian Shepherd Spencer and my little barn cat Charlie. It all started on the Spencer Ranch. On April 26th 1998 fourteen little Aussies were born. Late one night five weeks into their fast growing little lives, one puppy fell into the water bucket and was unable to get out. The temperatures were chilly and being wet only made him colder. When the Spencer family woke the next morning they found a frozen stiff puppy. His eyes were fixed open, and it seemed he no longer had a life to be lived on this earth. Being the kind people the Spencer family is, they set out to dig a grave for the frozen puppy. While Mr. Spencer was digging they hear a soft grunting noise. Could it be? They quickly took the stiff life less body into the house, and directly into warm water. Eight hours later the puppy had been thawed back to life! Spencer’s amazing start had given him a true passion for life and for being alive, and I could not resist bringing him home.

After Spencer turned a year old, I was visiting a friend and her cat Gracie gave birth the day I arrived. Gracie would nudge at my legs and push me to her 3 kittens in the bottom drawer of a dresser. She would then lie in your lap belly up. It was almost as if she was saying “Look what I did rub my belly!” When I brought Charlie home it only took a few hours before Spencer and Charlie were best friends. I had never had a cat before and had no idea how much fun they can be!

Furry Little Monsters is my gift to Spencer and Charlie. I am always searching for unique and useful things for them to enjoy, because they have given me so much joy and laughter. I decided it would only be fair to share all of the things I have found both near and far, to bring happiness to others the way they have to me.
